Bothan airidh ‘m braigh raineach (Trad. Scottish) Bothan àiridh 'm bràighe Raineach
One of the island’s oldest and best-loved narrative ballads, The Sheep Under the Snow, is a lament for a flock of sheep that were lost in a snow blizzard in the late 1600s. Ruth learnt the song from the singing of the late, great Dr. Brian Stowell. It’s followed by a lovely Scottish air which translates as the Bothy in the Braes of Rannoch.
